NGO Partners Driving Climate Action in Ghana

Africa Climate Collaborative Project at the University of Ghana

Addressing the climate crisis in Africa requires strong collaboration, innovation, and community-centered action. At the Africa Climate Collaborative Project at the University of Ghana, we work closely with transformational non-governmental organizations whose programs advance climate resilience and empower communities nationwide.

Three of our valued partners CDKN, EcoClub 360, and EcoGreen (EcoGreen Oases Legacy) exemplify leadership in environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and climate adaptation.

1. Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN)

The Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) plays a pivotal role in mobilizing climate knowledge and promoting community-led adaptation in Ghana. Their work focuses on gender-responsive resilience, youth empowerment, climate policy engagement, and innovative knowledge brokering.

Recent CDKN-supported initiatives include projects that strengthen adaptation policies, connect early-career researchers with creatives for climate storytelling, and promote inclusive solutions for vulnerable groups.

CDKN also partners with national institutions such as the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) to integrate climate action and ESG principles into business practices across Ghana.

EcoClub 360 is a youth-focused environmental NGO committed to empowering students and young people with climate knowledge and practical skills for sustainable action. Their work revolves around climate change, pollution reduction, and biodiversity conservation.

The organization has spearheaded climate reporting and community climate education initiatives in partnership with CDD-Ghana and the Embassy of Denmark. These programs enhance stakeholder engagement and strengthen Ghana’s climate information ecosystem.

EcoClub 360 also leads impactful climate processions and tree‑planting campaigns, including planting over 500 trees in the Dodowa Forest while mobilizing students, local assemblies, and environmental agencies to combat deforestation.
